British Airways will offer complimentary high-speed onboard connectivity by way of satellite partnership

Travelers on British Airways can soon use high-speed connectivity onboard free of charge following a recent agreement from the billionaire's communications company.

Free and High-speed Connectivity Available to Everyone

British Airways revealed that the no-cost, “reliable and lightning-fast” internet offering from the satellite provider is set to be available to travelers in coach, premium economy, and first class starting the coming month.

Widespread Deployment Across Various Carriers

The holding firm of British Airways, International Airlines Group, announced it had secured an partnership with SpaceX for providing internet coverage for 500-plus jets across their carriers, which also include Aer Lingus, the Spanish carrier, plus Vueling.

Uninterrupted Connectivity from Boarding through Landing

British Airways noted that the implementation of the technology was included in a £7bn “modernization” program that will provide smooth internet service for passengers starting at the gate through arrival, also when in flight above oceans and isolated areas.
